Purging Crap and a Little Surprise.

Todd has been gone for seven days and for a portion of that time I have been spring cleaning. One of my resolutions for this year is to purge our house. So with garbage bags and cleaner in hand I started. I gutted and cleaned my studio, cleaned out my night stand, moved books downstairs to the book shelves (so many, embarrassing really), gutted laundry room. I threw out sheets, pillows, magazines, books, crap, crap and more crap. Stuff I’ve hung onto for years. There isn’t really a good reason for all the crap other than laziness on my part.

So far I have thrown out five heavy-duty bags and I’m sure I can get another five. When bringing the bags to the garage I noticed some old potting pots and other crap by the side of the garage door. Thinking I would clean this area up quickly I went inside to grab another bag. Once back I went to grab the pots and a bird flew out totally freaking me out. Peeking inside I found this. I did not move or disturb the nest, just had a look. Luckily I had my phone in my pocket to capture what I saw. Look how the nest is built. Just fascinating.

So these pots and things in this area will have to wait. But no worries there is still tons to purge in the house. Next will be our closet and dressers. I am going to be very critical. If I haven’t worn it in a year it’s gone. If it belongs to Todd and it has stains, paint, or holes it’s outta here.  I think he’ll be needing a new wardrobe.

I gotta say it feels great to purge. I still have a way to go but one bite at a time, or in my case one bag at a time.
