easy Message Boards craft
A while back when Todd went moose hunting for a week I went crafting. I spent a full week doing all kinds of things. I made some wreaths, designed a few mats, made some crafts. All I had to do that week was not burn the house down and keep the dogs alive. I never cooked, not once. I lived for a week on toast and cereal. Ah to live like a single women. I did not clean… well I did but that was a few hours before he came home. I played, and crafted and hooked and watched all the shows I was missing out on.
Here’s one of the projects I did that week… a set of message boards. It was easy to do and cheap. One is a chalk board and the other a maker board. Here’s how I did it.
I bought two frames from the dollar store for $4.00, primed and then painted them.
For the chalk board I removed the glass and painted the mdf board with chalk board paint. You can find the recipe for that on the Martha Stewart website. I made mine grey. I added a piece of chalk to a string and attached it. Pretty easy and it works like a charm. I can see lots of uses for the chalk board paint in my future.
And the marker board was even easier. I found a piece of scrap-book paper in a grey colour and put it behind the glass. So easy it’s scary.
So folks for about $7.00 you can have a small message centre.
